5/116 The Old Rectory (previously listed as 25.10.51 Old Vicarage)

Former rectory, now private dwelling. Early C18; later wing to right hand side, possibly recorded by datestone on chimney inscribed 'RB 1776'. Roughcast render on brick, pantiled roof with glazed black tiles at the front. 2 storeys with attics to earlier part. The original house had a symmetrical 3-bay facade with mullion and transom casement windows, altered in early C19 by the addition of a 3-light curved bay on the right hand side: this bay has inset sash windows, with only one on the first floor. Doorway with 6-panel raised and fielded door (the upper 2 panels glazed), reeded architrave, frieze and bracketed cornice; C20 open timber trellis porch. Brick modillion eaves cornice. 2 shallow-pedimented dormers. The later wing has one bay with sash windows in flush frames; to the gable end of this wing is a Venetian window.
