Details
STEEPLE LANGFORD SALISBURY ROAD SU 03 NW (north side), Steeple Langford 2/94 Large Cottage 23.3.60. (Formerly Listed as Large Cottage fourth cottage E of Swayes) GV II House at end of row. Late C17, altered c1800. Flemish bond brick, tiled roof, brick stacks. Two-storey, 3-windowed sashes. Central 4-panelled door in gabled porch, 12-pane flush sash to either side. Three-brick plat band with toothed lower course to first floor; 9- pane sash either side of 6-pane sash, chamfered rusticated limestone quoins and coped verges. Attached to left is C18 extension with C20 two-light casement, yellow brick plat band and 2-light casement to first floor. Attached to right is flint and brick single storey carriage house with single casement and 3-brick plat band with toothing, right return has inserted garage door with planked loft door over, half-hipped roof gable. Rear of main build has C19 outshut with double Roman tiled roof and casements. Interior has stairs with stick balusters, ramped handrail and shaped brackets, chamfered beams with runout stops, open fireplace with chamfered lintel, first floor has doors with two fielded panels and H hinges.
