Farmhouse. C17 core altered in the early and late C19. Rubble stone on end
and rear walls with a chequered brick facade to the road. Steeply pitched
gabled roof with machine tiles to road and stone tiles to the rear. S and
brick stack. Originally 2 timber framed cottages of 1 storey and attic. 2-
bay E front to the road with segmental 3-light 2-pane casements and gabled
stone tiled dormers with modern glazing. Later C19 2-storey brick additions
with slate roofs to the rear. Inside the ground floor of the original
cottage range is divided in two by a low transverse rubble stone wall with a
wooden wall plate from which rise 3 vertical studs. There are several
stopped and chamfered beams in both the ground floor and attic rooms and a
newel staircase in the SW corner.
