Details

STAPLEFORD WARMINSTER ROAD SU 03 NE (south side), Serrington 3/70 Southington GV II Detached house. Late C17. Limestone and flint chequers, tiled roof with gable end brick stacks and coped verges. Two-storey, 3- windowed; casements. Central planked door with transom light and flat wooden hood on brackets, 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement with hoodmould to left, 3-light casement to right inserted into mullioned window with missing mullions, retains hoodmould. First floor has 3-light mullioned casement either side of central 2-light mullioned casement. Left and right returns have 1-light casements to attic, attached C20 single storey extensions with hipped roofs. Rear has French windows to left, 3-light casement and 3-light ovolo-mullioned casement with hoodmould, first floor has casements, large C20 gabled dormer. Interior said to have chamfered beams with runout stops, chamfered lintel to open fireplace, plank and muntin partition to first floor, C18 two- panelled door.
