Details

STAPLEFORD OVER STREET SU 03 NE (west side) 3/64 Manor Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse. Late C17, front range c1860. Flemish bond brick, Welsh slate roof to front range, double Roman tiles to rear range, brick stacks. Two parallel ranges, former central baffle entry. Two- storey, 3-window front; 12-pane sashes to ground and first floor with yellow brick dressings including flush quoins and plat band, toothed eaves cornice, stone coped verges. Right return of C19 range has two sashes to both floors and 1-light casement to attic, rear range has C19 pointed doorway, 3-light casements and cast-iron 2-light attic casement. Rear C19 lean-to extension in English bond brick, C20 casements, axial brick stack. Left return is slate-hung with 12-pane sashes to C19 range, rear gable end has casements, weatherboarded attic. Interior said to have chamfered beams and stairs against central stack of rear C17 range, first floor decorated beams with stepped stops. (Unpublished records of RCHM (England), Salisbury )
