Details
SU 17 SE OGBOURNE ST GEORGE SOUTHEND 7/106 Southend Cottage GV II Cottage. Early C17 and early C19. Sarsen with left bay timber framed and tile hung on sarsen sill. Thatched roof. Single storey and attic, 4 bays. Three bays to right have two panelled doors within trellis porches, and 4 flush dormers. All windows C19 timber casements with exposed timber lintels. Left bay probably part of timber framed house running north-south beyond main stack, and linking with No 3 Southend (q.v.). Roof half-hipped both ends. Interior has new fireplace in west bay with attached stair, bearing date 1699. Billet decoration on moulded handrail. Bolection fireplace on first floor of west bay, not seen and probably removed.
