A large late C19 red brick building built in the "Elizabethan" style to
harmonise with Trinity Hospital immediately to the east of it. On the
south gable there is a date panel with the date 1878. There are 4 gables
of various sizes. The front is divided by octagonal piers with stone
domed caps and finials. 2 and 3 storeys. The windows are mainly double-hung
sashes without glazing bars, (some modern casements). Some of the windows
have square label moulds. On the east front there are 2 canted bays with
embattled parapets and a long gabled porch which projects on the front.
Roofs tiled, with a number of shafted chimney stacks and an embattled
tower on the west side. The north, south and west fronts are of similar
design.
