LONGWORTH SOUTHMOOR SU39NE 3/153 Wash house and attached wall approx. 15m. W of New House
GV II
Washhouse and attached wall west of New House (q.v.). Early C18. Coursed limestone rubble with brick quoins and dressings; old tile roof, stone slate to rear, brick stack. Two-unit plan. One storey; 2-window range. Segmental brick arch over early C19 six-panelled door set in similar narrowed original doorway. Segmental brick arches with brick jambs to C19 two-light casement to left and early C18 two-light leaded casement to right. Hipped roof; ridge stack. Outshut to rear. Wall of coursed limestone rubble attached to left encloses area approximately 150 x 40 metres west of New House; coursed limestone rubble, Flemish bond brick with flared headers to inner face of right side and entry near New House is flanked by square piers with moulded limestone cornices.
