4/15 East Lodge - - II
Entrance lodge to Henham Park. Circa 1860-70. L shape plan. White brick, slated roof with courses of plain and fishscale slates. Single storey. picturesque estate style. To the front is a square bay with a tripartite sash window with semi-circular headed lights; to the drive side is a canted bay with semi-circular headed sash windows with moulded brick embellishment to the arches. Heavy open brick porch on drive side with much moulded brick enrichment: 6-panel door above which is a modillion cornice and a circular panel with the Stradbroke monogram. Over the bays and porch are projecting gables with broken pediments and spike finials, the uppermost part originally filled with pierced wooden tracery (now missing). The main gable ends were treated in a similar manner. Moulded brick modillion eaves cornice. The stack has a square base and 4 detached flues with circular shafts of moulded brick in Tudor style; each has a carved stone capital supporting a heavy cap.
