HOLTON SP50NE 5/110 Holton Park, retaining walls 18/07/63 and bridges to moat (Formerly listed as moated garden, walling and bridges at Holton Park)

Retaining walls and bridges. C17 or earlier. Coursed limestone rubble. Walls survive to 4 sides of, and almost completely surround, the rectangular island; also at the east angle of the outer perimeter. They are continued as rectangular projecting abutments, from both sides of the moat, to the north-west bridge, which is a flat timber structure probably C19/C20. The south-east bridge is a bowed timber structure with lattice balustrade, probably C19/C20. The island is the site of Holton House, the former manor house,
