II
House, c.1600-1630. 2-cell end-chimney plan. 2 storeys and attics. Timber-
framed and plastered. Thatched roof; an internal end chimney of C17 red brick
with panelled shaft. C20 casements and boarded entrance door. Original
lintelled open fireplaces in hall and chamber, with associated cupboards,
doors and newel staircase (altered at base). Cross-passage intact with twin
chamfered service room doorways (one blocked). Original attic floor and
windbraced clasped purlin roof. An unusually complete example of a 2-cell end-
chimney house.
