GISLINGHAM HIGH STREET (WEST SIDE) TM 0771 6/38 Jasmine Cottage - GV II

House, latterly 2 dwellings. Mid to late C17, extended and altered C19, altered C20. Timber frame, plastered. Thatched roof with black glazed and red pantiles on additions. Small 4-bay 3 cell lobby entry plan with 2 bays added at upper end. 1 storey and attic with lower 2 storey extension. Ground floor: entrance to right of centre, architraved door with a C19 trellissed porch, to left a leaded 3-light casement, to right a 2-light glazing bar casement, hoodboards. Two 2-light dormers with metal frames, leaded panes. Axial ridge stack with rebuilt capping to right of centre between hall and parlour. Left gable end pentice boards, brackets to plates, exposed purlins. To rear a continuous C19 lean-to, pantiled with an extruded stack at service end. Set back on right gable end is C19 addition with plaster scored to resemble ashlar, leaded and glazing bar casements, boxed eaves, right end oversailing upper storey on curved brackets, external stack. Interior: hall and parlour have bar and X stop chamfered axial binding beams and fireplace bressumers.
