BENSON ROKE SU69SW 2/82 Hicks Farmhouse
GV II
House. Early C17 with C20 alterations. Uncoursed limestone rubble; plain-tile roof; brick ridge stack to centre. Hall house plan. Single storey and attic; 2-window range. C20 part-glazed panelled door to left of centre. C20 bow windows with flat roofs to left and right. Three C20 hipped dormers. Hall to ground floor centre with late C17 floor to first floor with chamfered spine beam with ogee end stops. Chamfered spine beam with ogee end stops to dining room to left (probably former cross-wing). Queen post roof with smoke-blackened beams to centre.
