LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON THE GRANGE, SW19 TQ 2370 (north side) 7/47 No 1 GV II
Detached house. 1889, designed by Aston Webb. Plum brick, some fine red brick, some stone bands; red tiled steeply pitched roof to eaves. Free early Georgian revival. 2 storeys plus dormers. 7 windows wide including central 2 storey canted bay window of rubbed brick. Square headed windows; 1 and 2 lights to upper floors, with moulded timber mullions. To left side, square ground floor bay window set diagonally. Casements, small panes, glazing bars. Sliding slatted shutters to first floor windows. Modillion eaves cornice above first floor. Central gable to roof; 2 flat topped dormer windows. Stepped end gables with Portland stone coping and cream stone bands, rising to moulded chimneystacks. To left return entrance beneath shell hood. Interior not inspected.
