COLLYWESTON STAMFORD ROAD RO4D SK9902 (West side) sioe 8/57 Collyweston Manor 23/05/67 (Formerly listed as Manor House)

Manor house. Datestone 1695, rebuilt 1912 using C17 masonry. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Double-depth plan. 2 storey with attic. Main front is a 5-window range of 2-light cavetto moulded, stone mullion windows, with transoms. Secondary single-light windows, with transoms, flanking centre bay on each floor. Central panelled door has porch with hipped roof. Chamfered plinth end moulded cornice linking ground floor window heads. 5 eaves dormer with leaded casements and hipped roofs. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar slacks at ridge and end. Right gable has one-window range of 2-light stone mullion windows similar to main front. Left gable has early C20 bay window with stone mullions. Rear wing is part rendered and has early C20 casement windows with glazing bars. Interior not inspected but noted as having a reset staircase with turned balusters and a reset fireplace with bolection moulded surround. The house originally stood in the High Street, Collyweston and was rebuilt on its present site in 1912.
