Details

MAZE HILL 1. 5204 (East Side) St Leonards Nos 9 to 12 (consec) TQ 7908 NE 10/200A II GV 2. Dated 1832. By James Burton. A terrace of houses in Tudor gothic style. Erected as part of the original layout of St Leonards by James Burton. Stuccoed. Built as a single composition. 4 storeys and basement. 6 bays wide. 3 projecting bays with triangular gables over. One-window bay between and on outer side of each, those between the projections surmounted by shaped gables. The centre gable overhangs on the 1st floor on brackets. Canted oriel windows on the 2nd floor of the projecting bays and on the 1st floor of the centre recessed bay. Other windows, casements those on 1st and 2nd floors with dripmoulds over. 4-centred arch doorways, those in Nos 10 and 11 in one arch up 10 steps, doors with vertical cover-moulds. Slate roofs.

Nos 9 to 13 (consec) form a group.
