GV I

Church. C12 origin, rebuilt in C13 by Waverley Abbey, west wall rebuilt in C17- restored in 1862. Flint rubble, part mortar rendered, with clunch and sandstone quoins and brick buttresses. Plain tiled roof with stone ridge cross to east end, open gabled bell hood projecting tile hung gable end to west. Rectangular, with nave and chancel in one. Plinth to west. Rectangular louvred opening in west end, arch window below. 3-light, square-headed, Perpendicular east window and C13 lancets in remainder of church. C14 Decorated style two-light window under thin hood moulding to east end of south wall. Stone dressed arched door to south.

Interior: braced timber roof with moulded, longitudinal, beam connecting collars, part C19. Simple whitewashed walls with crimped decoration over rear arches. Wooden rood screen with arched centre, old square framing with CUSPED C19 tracery. Timbers of old bellcote survive inside to west end.

Fittings: C19/20 pews. Piscina on south wall of chancel. Lobed circular stone font on octagonal stem with attached piers. C20 brick flat roofed extension to north with arched and ribbed door in lower porch linking the addition to the church.
