Large house in grounds, formerly the Rectory. 1848, by R C Carpenter. Rubble stone walls with Caen stone dressings, stone gable copings. Slate roof with gable ends. Grouped stone stack at centre, eaves. Long double depth range with rear service attachments. 2 storeys with attics. circa 6 windows. South elevation: asymmetrical with 2 gable ends showing in bays 2 and 6. Canted bays: (bay 2) to ground and first floors; (bay 6) to ground floor only. Ground floor windows in Decorated style (net tracery) with segmental-pointed heads. Labels with head-stops at left hand and right hand ends. First floor windows: 2-light with trefoil heads, some under segmental arches. 2 attic windows, dormers with 2-light wooden casements. Garden-front door in bay 5 with segmental pointed head. Projecting stack at centre of range, to left of door. Main entrance-door, to hall, on west elevation, Stone jambs with segmental-pointed arch, in C13 style. Label with returns and head-stops. Interior: stone fireplaces with segmental-pointed heads. Main staircase with entrance-arch the same, and nook-shafts with foliage capitals. Staircase of 2 flights, the second returned after landing, with a quarter spiral. All of stone.
