House. 1731 (dated stone) and c1760. Wire cut yellow brick, English bond,
and red brick details. Steeply pitched roof, now covered with slates and
tumbled gable end parapets. End stacks with rebuilt upper courses. L-plan.
Two storeys. Range of five cambered red brick arches to original window
openings, now with later hung sashes. Original segmental, red brick arches
to four enlarged window openings at ground floor on either side of central
doorway. Early C19 reeded doorcase with low pitch gabled canopy on plain
scroll brackets. Door of six raised and fielded panels with two glazed upper
panels. Inside. Front range has opposing front and rear doorways with
flanking parlour and dining room. Hall with c1760 open string staircase with
two diminishing columns as balusters to each tread and square newels with
moulded rail and scroll tread ends. The staircase dado has raised and
fielded panelling. The left hand ground floor room has similar panelling to
the dado and a fluted fireplace surround with boss enrichments at the
corners.
