Details
RONCOMBE LANE, SIDBURY 1. 1633 Sand SY 19 SW 12/217 12.10.51. II* 2. Ancient seat of the Sands, Ashleys and Huyshes. Present house built by Rowland Huyshe 1594. For long a farm but now restored as private house. Stone front of 2 storeys. E plan with projecting wings and porch. Para- pet with gables, saddlestones and finials. 6 windows of 3, 4 and 6 stone mullioned lights, those to Great Hall transomed. Internally screens, panelling, stone fire places and beams survive. Remains of heraldic glass in Hall window.
