5 houses, now 4 shops. Late C18, with early, mid and and late C20 alterations. Brick with gabled and hipped concrete tile roof. First floor band, half-round brick dentillated eaves, coped gables, 4 ridge and single gable stacks. 3 storeys; 9 window range with slightly projecting centre. Barnby gate front has 3 single pane windows, and to their right, 3 glazing bar sashes. To left, a blank, and to right, 2 plain sashes. Above, a central small glazing bar sash flanked to left by a C20 casement and to right by a blank. Beyond, to left, 2 C20 casements and a blank. To right, a glazing bar sash and 2 C20 casements. Below, to left, early C20 metal framed shopfront with 4 windows with toplights, under altered fascia. To right, shopfront c1930 with off-centre glazed door flanked by single pane windows with patterned toplights. To right again, 2 fielded 6-panel doors, the left one with overlight, the right one with blank fanlight. To right again, pilastered wooden shopfront c1900, with fascia on brackets. Half-glazed door to left, single pane window to right. Appleton Gate side has 2 C20 single pane windows and above, 2 C20 casements, all with rubbed brick heads. Below, continuation of Barnby Gate metal shopfront with two 2-pane windows and glazed corner doorway.
