GV II

House in a row of houses. Probably C18. Local slate rubble with red brick window arches. Rendered and slate hung at rear. Grouted scantle slate roof, gabled right end, and hipped left end. Some early crested ridge tiles on link roof to right. Large stone rubble chimney stack in right hand gable end heightened with rendered shaft. Plan appears to be two front rooms and central entrance hall passage, and probably with smaller service rooms at rear. Later single storey rear outshut. Exterior: 3 storeys. Symmetrical 2-window range. Original openings with segmental red brick arches. 3-light casements with glazing bars. Ground and first floor right are the original casements, ground floor left has been altered in C19 and first floor left is C20 replacement in original opening. Central second floor window breaks eaves with taking slate roof and it has C20 casement. Central doorway with segmental brick arch and canopy on the original shaped wooden brackets which supports a pitched slate roof which probably replaces a flat canopy. C20 plank door. The projection at the centre of the rear wall is probably a truncated later stack. Interior not inspected.
