SELLACK CP SO 52 NE 4/144 Barn, stables and granary about 80 yards 18.5.53 west-south-west of Caradoc Court

GV II

Barn, stables and granary. Tablets inscribed 1634 and 1635. Finely coursed sandstone rubble and sandstone dressings. Tile and stone slate roofs. Longitudinal plan aligned roughly north/south. Seven-bay barn to south with four-bay stables and granary to north. Granary has three-bay extension to north. Barn has west elevation with two rows of vent slits and entries to two threshing floors each one bay in from ends. The left entry is blocked. East elevation has two sets of two-leaved full-height doors under dressed segmental heads. Interior has bolted king-post trusses with pegged angle struts. Stables and granary have west elevation with five stable doors in segmental heads and east elevation with tallet stairs rising from north. Interior has trusses made of cruck blades clasped between early C19 struts. Extension to north of stables and granary is early C19. The date tablets are re-positioned: 1665 on north gable of extension; 1634 on south gable of barn. (RCHM, Vol I, p 237).
