Details

SP 1037 BROADWAY CP HIGH STREET (north side) 9/67 East House (formerly listed as part of 30.7.59 Top Farmhouse) GV II House. C17, with early C20 alterations. Squared limestone with stone slate roof. Two storeys with attic. Windows are rebated and chamfered with mullions. South front has two gables, possibly of different builds. The left-hand bay has 3-light windows on the ground and first floors and a 2-light attic window. To the right on the first floor is a chamfered one-light window. A stone form- ming the left-hand jamb of the ground floor window is inscribed: "T C (?) 1755". To the right there is a blocked opening. The right-hand bay has windows of four lights on the ground floor, three on the first floor and two to the attic. Between the main gabled bays there is a 2-light window on the first floor. Doorway, at left, has chamfered surround and canted head. Chimneys towards rear.
