Details
EWELL 1. 1086 HIGH STREET (West Side) Entrance arch to garden of Bourne TQ 2162 21/323 10.4.54. Hall II
2. Early C19, stucco; of rather striking character. Centre with giant round headed moulded arch with suspended octagonal glazed lamp flanked by square piers with raised panels, ornamental archivolts, panelled tympanum above arch, frieze, cornice and blocking course with capping. To the centre is a raised panelled parapet with shell haing an achievement of the Arms of Barritt; above this is a larger than life size statue of heraldic talbot. The side portions of the entrance are lower and have moulded round headed arches, square raised panelled outer piers, panelled friezes at main archivolt level, cornices, blocking courses and shorter panelled parapets surmounted by griffins. Iron gates.
