Pair of small houses. Late C18, altered C19 and C20. Coursed roughly squared sandstone with ashlar dressings, and slate roofs. Double-depth plan with linked doorways in the centre, rear extensions at the side, and gable chimney stacks. 3 storeys above cellars, and one bay per house. Both the doorways and the windows have plain surrounds and doors of 6 raised and fielded panels. No.24, at the left, has a sashed window without glazing bars on the first floor and a C20 fixed frame divided similarly on the ground floor. No.22 has a glazing bar sash on the ground floor, and a C20 casement with glazing bars on the first floor. Both houses have glazing bar sashes with horns on the second floor. The rear has 2 full-height stair windows in the centre. HISTORY: probably built just after the creation of Sun Street, which was laid out in 1791 on the garden of the Sun Inn, Church Street (qv)
