Manor House, with attached cottages at both ends. Early C17, with C19
refenestration, and C20 restoration. Dressed stone and flint walls banded.
Lias stone window dressings. Slate roof with gable ends. Brick stacks left
of centre and at right hand gable. Two storeys and attics with a porch at
centre, with hipped roof. One C18 bay at left hand with 2-light wooden
casements with glazing-bars and segmental brick arches over. 3 C17 windows,
3-light C17 stone-mullion, with iron casements and lead lights throughout.
Separate labels over. Tension-bars. Ground floor windows: 3-light, 5-light
first floor: 3, 2 and 4-light. Porch doorway has a depressed-arch head and
chamfered jambs. Separate label over. Outer plank door, C20. Inner door,
plank-and-muntin, C20. Interior: ceiling-beams with moulded chamfer. Large
mantelshelf in left hand room. Flagstone floors throughout. Rear wing has
remains of stone fireplace, cut into at left hand end, and a smaller fireplace
inserted beside it, brought from upstairs. Staircase mentioned in RCHM, no
longer survives. Cellar under rear wing is lined with chalk blocks.
