Details
NORTH MOLTON RAPSCOTT HILL SS 63 SE 9/175 Range of farmbuildings adjoining - Great Rapscott Farmhouse to east GV II Range of farmbuildings. Mid to late C18 and mid to late C19. C18 work of roughly squared and coursed stone with scantle-slate roof, hipped to right. C19 work of squared and coursed stone with tooled ashlar dressings and gable-ended scantle-slate roof. Plan: C19 L-plan range of shippons to north and east sides of farmyard to south-east Oof farmhouse (q.v.). Farmyard formerly enclosed by building to south too, probably barn now altered (and not included on this list). North range with through cartway to left. Smaller C18 stable between north range and farmhouse. Two storeys. Exterior: C18 stable to left with central boarded loft door, ground- floor window to left with dressed-stone flat-arched head and 2 boarded doors to right (half-height), also with dressed stone flat-arched heads. Two C19 ranges have louvered loft openings with stone cills, stone lintels and monolithic stone jambs, boarded loft doors, and ground-floor boarded doors with ashlar segmental-arched heads and jambs. Right-hand side range has boarded loft door to left approached by flight of external stone steps. North range with segmental-arched through-carriageway to left. Interior: not inspected. These buildings form part of a large farmstead group, also including Great Rapscott Farmhouse (q.v.), Little Rapscott (q.v.) and Rapscott Cottage (q.v.).
