Details

THORPE MALSOR CHURCH WAY SP 87 NW (south west side) 5/104 The Old Rectory II Rectory, now a house. Early C18, with alterations 1812. Coursed and squared ironstone with limestone dressings and stone slate roofs. Plinth, corner pilasters, first floor band, coped gables with kneelers, 3 coped stone gable and 2 ridge stacks. 2 rendered side wall stacks with brick flues. 2 storeys plus garrets, 5 bays, double range plan. Garden front has a projecting gabled central bay with renewed pedimented wooden doorcase, geometrical fanlight and 2-leaf doors. On either side, 2 6/6 sashes and above, 5 similar sashes, all with flat arches. In the central gable, a datestone inscribed 'G M 1812'. Double gabled south side has a recessed centre with a segmental hooded opening containing a half-glazed door with flanking lights and overlights, flanked to left by a blocked window and to right by a glazing bar sash. Beyond, an outbuilding with a garage door. Above, on each floor, a central glazing bar sash, flanked to left by a blocked window and to right by a similar sash. Rear has recessed centre flanked by blank wing to west and wing with C19 sashes to west. East side has a single-storey hipped outbuilding with a 6-panel door.
