Farmhouse. C17 with later alterations. Finely coursed sandstone rubble, sandstone ashlar and dressings, Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. T-plan with main range aligned north-west/south-east and cross-wing at north-west end. Cellar and two storeys. South-west elevation has 1:3 windows, regular 2-light glazing bar casements, probably early C20 under hood moulds, moulded string course between storeys rises to hood moulds over ground floor windows; gable front to left has moulded finial to apex, and beneath, a recessed oval panel also under a hood mould; similar panel to gable of two-storey porch in centre of main range; porch has 2-centred moulded outer arch with moulded jambs and imposts; segmentally headed doorway with studded plank door; 2-light mullioned openings to cellar under main range; mid-C19 lean-to on right-hand side. Interior has straight-cut chamfers to ceiling beams of ground floor and re-used C17 panelling, said to be from the Church of St Dubrucius (qv), formed into a screen in the south-east ground floor room. RCHM noted inscription "William Scudamore, 1602" on four-centred head above blocked door on north-west return. The inscription had disappeared by the time of the re-survey (September 1985).
