Details

ROSEDALE EAST SIDE ROSEDALE ABBEY SE 7295 16/50 Page headstone approximately 30 metres north-east of the Church of St Mary and St Laurence - II Headstone. 1773. For John Page. Stone. Rectangular stone with a shaped head. East face: 2 putti holding an hourglass and blowing trumpets surmount an inscription panel in a moulded surround. Inscription reads: Erected in memory of John Page who departed this life the 13th of July 1773 West face: a representation of a door of 4 raised and fielded panels, the top panels shaped into the head of the stone. The headstone is almost identical with the Thomas Flunders headstone, in the Churchyard of St Mary, Lastingham (qv).
