Details

LODDINGTON MAIN STREET SP 87 NW (north side) 5/39 Mawsley Farmhouse II Farmhouse, now a house. c 1840. Coursed and squared ironstone rubble with limestone dressings and Welsh slate roof. Plinth, first floor band, coped gables with kneelers, 2 brick gable stacks. 2 storeys plus garrets, 3 bays, L-plan. Most windows have keystoned lintels. Front has central 6-panel door with fanlight and plain round headed doorcase inscribed 'Mawsley House'. On either side, an 8/12 sash. Above, 3 smaller 8/12 sashes. East gable has a canted bay window to left and a C20 central casement. Above, a glazing bar sash to left, and above again a central smaller sash. West gable has a central round headed stair light and above it, a small glazing bar sash. Rear has a near-central 6-panel door with a C19 casement to left. Above, three 2-light C19 casements. All these openings have wooden lintels.
