Shop. c1800. Brick; slate roof with brick end stacks. Georgian style. 3 storeys; symmetrical 2-window range with 2-storey lean-to wing to left end Top cornice. Contemporary shopfront has entrance with architrave with decorative panel over, and overlight with decorative 'Catherine Wheel' glazing bars to 6-fielded-panel door; flanking small-paned bow windows with pilasters, frieze and entablature, the cornice extended on brackets over entrance. Windows to upper floors have tripartite sashes with pilasters and entablatures, those to 1st floor have 4:16:4-pane sashes, those to 2nd floor have 3:9:3-pane sashes. Lean-to has similar door to shop, 1st floor window with ashlar lintel over 12-pane horned sash. Rear has 3-storey gabled wing, and longer 2-storey gabled L-plan wing attached to rear of The Chains Public House (qv); tile roof, modillioned brick cornice; varied fenestration including 12-pane sash with thick glazing bars, casements with iron opening lights and 2 bay windows.
