4/64 Hanslope Park House

-

GV II Country house. Built for Basil Brent at end of C17, altered. 3 storeys, ashlar stone, plinth, strings at floor levels, moulded and bracketted wood cornice, hipped slate roof.

North east front U-shaped with centre section of 5 bays, segmental headed sash windows with glazing altered, and C19 rectangular central porch with arched opening, cornice and blocking course.

Flanking wings each have 2 bays on upper floors and 3-light sash in centre of ground floor, 2nd floor windows blocked and inner sashes on 1st floor also blocked, 3-light sash in R.H. wing retains its glazing. South west front has 5 widely spaced bays, slight projecting. Interior: The staircase in oak with delicate turned balusters, 3 to a tread, moulded hand rail, Doric column newels and cut spandrels. The hall is divided by a Doric screen, now filled in with partitions.
