PADSTOW SW 97 NW Lellissick Farmhouse 2/1 II

Farmhouse. Probably mid C17, the interior remodelled in the mid C18 and early C19. Stone rubble, clad in asbestos sheets on front elevation and slate hung with rag slates on side. Asbestos slate roof with gable ends and gable ends to the two rear wings. Brick end stacks. Plan: Original plan probably of overall 'U' shaped plan with front range of central passage and two room plan heated by end stacks. Stair in shallow projection directly to rear of passage with two 1-room wings to rear right and left, heated by end stack; the kitchen to rear left and the dairy and brewhouse to rear right. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front altered in mid C20 when the front was clad with asbestos sheets and 2-light casements were inserted. 2 casements flank the stone rubble C19 porch with hipped scantle slate roof. Three 2-light casements above. The side and rear elevations are far less altered and retain their C19 casements and horizontally sliding sashes. Interior: Internal partitions complete. Kitchen to rear left has C18 bowtell moulded ceiling beams, C19 gun rack and C18 and C19 joinery detail. Roof structure largely of the circa later C17 with principals halved, lap-jointed and pegged at the apices. Some carpenters marks.
