Fishing lodge. Late C18, probably part of Capability Brown's designs for
Dodington Park landscape. Limestone ashlar and rubble with slightly pitched
corrugated iron roof. Batty Langley Gothic style. Single storey open-fronted
fishing lodge; rubble plinth has central round-headed arch with rusticated
surround and projecting keystone; above, a square pier broken forward at each
side, each with triple clustered slender shafts on plain pedestals, each divided
into four sections by moulded shaft rings, 2 central piers of 4 clustered shafts;
bead-moulded entablature, cornice and parapet continued round sides. Left
return has doorway in plain reveal with flush keystone, steps from doorway; right
return has door opening to left and ashlar wall to right, similar engaged
clustered shafts to rear of pier to left and to wall; rubble wall to rear.
Interior: rear has wooden floor raised above front floor of black and white
stone, similar single shaft in wood attached to side wall left and right. In
poor condition at time of survey (September, 1984).
