DIPTFORD SX75NE Former Stables 5/210 immediately ESE of Crabadon Court
GV II
Stables, used as cow house and now a barn. C17 slate rubble with dressed slate chamfered plinth and hoodmoulds. Monopitch corrugated iron roof replaces the original roof. Rectangular on plan with main entrance at the centre of the front and a small single cell plan at the left hand end. Built into the bank at the back. Probably originally 2 storeys having loft above but reduced to one storey. Central semi-circular arch doorway with finely dressed chamfered slate voussoirs and slate hoodmould above. One window either side of doorway with chamfered wooden lintel with straps and slate hoodmould. Doorway to left with timber lintel to left of which is a small window with a timber lintel and slate dripstone. below the eaves a row of pigeon holes. The right hand corner is rounded at the base with a plinth continuing around the right hand end; over the rounded corner a corbel carries the square corner above. The right hand end has a ventilation slit on the ground floor and a square opening above with 2 rows of pigeon holes to the left. The roof is a C20 structure.
