II
Orangery, now house. Circa 1843, probably by J.B. Papworth. Red brick. 3 large arched recesses with stone dressings including architraves and moulded imposts. String, cornice and coped parapet to hipped slate roof. One storey. Two C20 plate glass windows with overlights in outer arches, flanking central C20 six-panelled door with 3-light overlight in central arch. Set back flanking wings with shaped coped parapets. Blank semi circular arch to right and C20 door in semi circular archway to left. Country Life, Basildon House I-III, John Cornforth, May 5, 12 and 19, 1977.
