5/49 Barn about 130 metres south east of Codrington Court G.V. II
Barn. C17, possibly earlier origins with later alterations. Rubble, stone dressings, plain tiled roof with courses of stone slates at eaves. Rectangular plan. West elevation has cart entry with double heavy timber lintels, quoins to sides of entry, small door with plain frame and timber lintel; south elevation has block loading door in gable end, lean-to in corrugated asbestos. East elevation has cart entry to left with heavy timber lintel, loading door, lower cart entry with timber lintel and quoins to left side only; wider wing to north has diagonal buttress, large quoins and weathered string course, only wall to north remaining of wider wing with mortices in stonework, timber lintel over blocked cart entry remaining in north west wall. Interior: rubble dividing wall between north and south, to north 3-bay roof, principal rafters, ridge purlin and plated yoke, tie-beams and collars, part of purlin remaining in north bay below tie-beam, 3 windbraces remaining; 3 bays to south of similar construction with one complete pair of windbraces remaining on east slope and one single windbrace beside, keeping holes to north, south and west, south window in deep splayed reveal. In poor condition at time of survey (September, 1984).
