WEYMOUTH AVENUE 1. 5191 (East Side) Office block of Messrs Eldridge Pope's Brewery SY 6990 7/309 II GV 2. 1880. Architect G R Crickmay of Weymouth. Yellow, red and brown brick. Slate roof. 3 storeys at ends, 2 in middle. Red brick stacks with ashlar cornicing. 2 end bays break forward and are crowned by hipped roof with stone brackets to eaves. 2 modern windows and door on ground floor. Door in recessed bay with semi-circular relieving arch over, whose tympanum is filled with patterned and moulded brick. 1st floor has 2 tripartite sashes with segmental relieving arches over, tympanum filled with glazed tiles. 2nd floor has 2 pairs of paired sashes separated by squat attached columns with crocketed capitals. Hoodmould joins the 2 pairs, arching over a panel with a shield bearing Eldridge Pope monogram. Next 2 bays have parapet with "Dorchester Brewery" in sans-cerif, above a cornice taken on stone brackets. 2 modern windows on ground floor. 2 pairs of paired sashes with segmental heads on 1st floor. Final bay has pyramidal roof with stone brackets to eaves. 1 pair of round-arched sashes separated by squat attached columns with crocketed capitals on ground floor. 1 pair of sashes with segmental heads on 1st floor. 3 sashes separated by squat attached columns with crocket capitals on 2nd floor. Moulded terra-cotta band below 2nd floor sill. All the listed buildings at Messrs Eldridge Pope's Brewery form a group.]
