DURSLEY PARSONAGE STREET ST 7598 (north side) 5/48 Nos 17 to 21 (odd) (previouly listed as Nos 11 to 21) 30.6.61 II

Four shops in row. c1820. Flemish bond red brick, mostly painted; random rubble limestone to rear; brick chimneys; Welsh slate and replacement tile roofs. Three-storey with cellars; outshut to rear of No 17. Front: single sash window fenestration to each property, 16-pane to middle floor, 12-pane to upper floor; stone voussoir lintels (except upper floor of No 19 which has been replaced by plain concrete lintel). C20 shop fronts to Nos 17 and 19. Late C19 canted bay windows to Nos 19a and 21 with grouped doorways between. Ridge-mounted brick chimneys. Rear: scattered segmental-arched fenestration. Flat-roofed C20 extension to No 17 is not of special interest. Row is remaining half of terrace surviving demolition for construction of Castle Street.
