DURSLEY LONG STREET ST 7598 (north side) 5/20 No 1 30.6.61 GV II
Formerly weaver's house, now part of shop. Datepanel: SIE/1751. Roughcast render; largely concealed timber framing; brick chimney; stone slate roof. Rectangular; 3-storey with attic. Long 2-storey attached shop building is not of special interest. West side (facing Castle Street): scattered fenestration to lower 2 floors, all C20 to ground floor with central doorway. Off-centre leaded casement to middle floor, small-paned casement to right; central square datepanel. Exposed timber framing with row of leaded casements to upper floor, some panels having rendered infill, some incised decoration in render to left. Central gabled attic dormer with leaded casement. North side: large leaded casement to middle floor and timber framed casement row to upper floor as to west side. Further fragment of decorated render below middle floor casement. East side: row of timber framed upper floor casements and blocked attic dormer. C19 brick chimney in south-east corner. Probably built as weaver's house or houses, this being indicated by the workshop-type windows on the upper floor where the hand looms would have been situated. Of considerable historic interest.
