House, extended to left and right and converted into 3 cottages. Late C17,
extended C18 and late C19 with later additions and alterations. Rendered slate-
stone; slate roof in 2 sections to Moonhill and Homer Cottage. Original cottage
extended to right in C18 and to left in late C19 (latter part not of special
architectural interest). 2 storeys. Moonhills (centre part and left section
of right part) has horned glazing bar sashes directly below eaves to left and
centre with C20 casement to ground floor. Slate-stone stack with drips (formerly
an end stack) at junction with tower range. This has wide gabled porch (entrance
to Moonhills) to left with 6-paned sash directly above immediately below eaves.
Similar sashes to centre and right, first over C19 casement, second above gabled
porch (entrance to Homer Cottage). Integral end stack with brick shaft.
Interior: Moonhills has C17 moulded wood door surround with chamfer stops to
bottom of jambs leading to large room to left of entrance. This has chamfered
joists with roughly carved stops and inglenook fireplace with granite lintel
and infilled cloam oven. Plain C19 joists in small room to right of entrance.
Homer Cottage has C19 joists to ground floor and open fireplace with wood lintel
and cloam oven to right gable end. Collar truss roof to Moonhills.
