GV II

Two houses, now offices. Mid to late C18 with c1820 and later alterations. Brick with ashlar dressings; tile roof, part possibly slate, with brick stacks. Management House is of 3 storeys, the top storey early C19; symmetrical 3-window range with single-window range breaking back to right end. Plinth and top modillioned cornice with blocking course. Entrance has ?C20 doorcase with panelled pilaster strips, bracketed cornice, and 6-fielded-panelled door; right end range has elliptical-headed carriage entrance. Windows have sills and wedge lintels, over 3/6-pane sashes with margin lights to ground floor, 9-pane sashes to 1st floor, 12-pane sash to right end range, and 6-pane sashes to 2nd floor; central 1st floor Venetian window has antae with lotus capitals, paterae to frieze and 4:9/6:4-pane horned sashes and plain fanlight; Diocletian window above has central 6-pane sash. End stack and stack to rear of ridge. Returns reveal the raising of the front eaves. No.69 of 2 storeys; 3-window range. Plastered ground floor and modillioned brick cornice. Central entrance with C20 door; left end has full-height elliptical-headed carriage entrance attached to No.67 (qv). Large C20 windows to ground floor, 1st floor has blocked central window and flanking windows with C20 casements. Cross-axial stack. INTERIOR: Management House has open-well stair with turned balusters and square newels.
