Public house. c1850. Ruled stucco, graduated slate roof. Two storeys with cellars and attic, three bays; single-storey wing to rear. Square-headed central door in rusticated panel flanked by plain casements with projecting stone sills and painted surrounds. First floor: sill band links three similar windows; cemented eaves cornice. End stacks.

Left return: Three-bay gable with windows as front; round-arched attic window. Flat-roofed wing to rear has blocked door on right of two round-arched windows divided by column and linked by hoodmould. Semi-circular gratings at ground level, either side of front door. The one to the right is original and of cast iron, the one to left is a modern fabricated steel replacement. Two modern roof windows to front, three to rear.

Together with buildings of St George's Square (qv) forms part of the new town of Barrow centred on the Furness Railway terminus.
