GV II

Lodge to Mere Hall. c1880. Probably by Edmund Kirby. Coursed and squared rubble, brick and render with mock timbering and plain tiled roof. One-and-a-half storeys, 2-unit plan, with central doorway in long wall, and gable facing road. Single-storey bay to rear a later extension. Full-height gabled porch carried on bulbous pilasters with square panelled decorated timber-framing. Venetian window over the doorway. Porch is balanced in rear elevation by large gabled dormer with Venetian window. Coved rendered eaves cornice. Gabled front has paired 3-light moulded brick mullioned windows divided by blind trefoiled panel to ground floor, and square panelled timber-framing in first floor jettied on moulded brackets. Canted oriel bay window with projecting gable over. Axial stack.
