Grand terrace of houses. Circa 1825. George Basevi. Stucco. Low slate mansard. Graeco-Roman style. Centre pair and end houses set forward slightly with giant Corinthian columns to first and second floors. 3 storeys, attic and basement. Each house 3 windows wide (No 31 is 4 windows). Projecting columnar porches with waterleaf capitals. Channelling to ground floor. Continuous cast iron balcony to first floor. Square headed windows with architraves, pedimented to centre pair. Dentil cornice above second floor. Balustrade to attic with urn finials. Attic to centre houses with elaborate acanthus decoration and cartouche flanked by female figures. Flank elevation of No 25 to Belgrave Place has 2 Coade stone reliefs with cherubs (1796) from former Danish - Norwegian Consulate at 20-21 Wellclose Square, Stepney. Interiors not inspected. Cast iron area railings. One of four grand terraces facing Belgrave Square.
