GV II

Almshouses. Dated 1895. Red brick with stone dressings and mock timbering. Stone-flagged roof. Single-storeyed, 2 windows each side of central entrance. Wide segmental moulded stone archway to centre with raised gable jettied out above, containing tall 3-light mullioned and transomed window surmounted by coved half-timbered gable. Central entrance feature flanked by 2 prominent windows which cut the coved eaves line and are surmounted by coved half-timbered dormer gables. Dated with inscription 'Fence Almshouses TUB FDB' below the central window. Weather vane surmounts the central gable. Axial stacks. Forms a group with Fence House (qv) and Nos 88-92 Buxton Road (qv).
