2. Dated 1846 but plaques record endowments in 1664 and 1669. Originally l4 almhouses, now 7 with paired doors of which 1 is now blank. Red and grey brick, tiled roof. 1 storey with doors and 2 light windows in Tudor style with early C19 casements and dripstone moulds. Red brick pilasters between windows and doors.
The surface of the lane forms part of a group with Nos 1 to 7 (consec) Chantry House and Chantry Cottage, No 20 Thameside, Nos 8 to 20 (consec), the Brewery Buildings No 86A New Street and St Mary's Parish Church, Hart Street.
