GV II

House, now part of adjoining shop (No.4). c1650 with C18 facing. Stuccoed brick to internal timber frame; tile roof with brick cross-axial stack. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys with attic; single-window range. Top frieze and cornice. Entrance to right has doorcase with bracketed cornice and half-glazed door. Windows have sills; that to ground floor has fixed plate glass with margin lights, that to 1st floor has 16-pane sash; attic has hipped dormer window within small-paned casement. Rear has gabled wing with brick platt bands and segmental-headed windows with pegged casements; C19 gabled cross-wing. INTERIOR: chamfered beams; staircase has turned balusters, square newels and moulded handrail; 1st floor has exposed jowls of wall posts, winding stair to attic, which has exposed principals.
